December 22, Fineko/abc.az. Oxford University and AstraZeneca (UK-Sweden) have started creating a vaccine to combat omicron strains, ABC.AZ reports with reference to company's statement.

”Together with Oxford University, we have taken the first steps to produce a vaccine variant against the omicron strain," AstraZeneca said in a statement.

The researchers suggest that, if necessary, they will be able to develop a modification (update) of the vaccine within 100 days.

The WHO has now reported the detection of the omicron strain in 106 countries.
