December 27, Fineko/abc.az. The identification and registration of animals is ongoing with the organization of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA) and the support of the World Bank.

ABC.AZ was informed at AQTA that in the period from 15 to 27 December of this year 6,829 heads of cattle were identified in family farms in Baku, Sumgait and Absheron district, and information about farms and animals is included in the e-system.

Of the identified animals, 1,417 ones account for Baku and 5,412 ones for Sumgait. The Animal Identification & Registration System (HIQS) created in our country provides collection and management of information about animal diseases, preventive and curative measures, drugs used, diagnostic tests and their results, animal movement, as well as their owners and other individual indicators in the order associated with a unique identification code.

With the use of this system, integration into the modern food safety standard of our country will be ensured on the basis of monitoring of animal genetic information, organization of breeding work, identification and management of food safety risks, veterinary and sanitary and other necessary measures related to animal health.
