Iran opens borders with Azerbaijan

January 11, Fineko/abc.az. Iran is reopening its land borders with neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ informs, citing Iranian Internal Affairs Minister Ahmed Vahidi.

He noted that the borders that were closed 15 days ago due to the omicron strain of coronavirus are open again, and citizens of neighboring countries can visit Iran by land.

The minister noted that citizens of neighboring countries must pass a PCR test to travel to Iran.

On 25 December 2021, Iran closed its land borders with Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Pakistan for 15 days due to an increase in the number of cases of infection with COVID-19 strain omicron.
