Google, Facebook and WhatsApp paid fines in Russia

January 13, Fineko/abc.az. Google, Facebook, WhatsApp have paid 22 million rubles (about $300,000) in fines to Russia, imposed for violating legislation concerning users' personal data.

ABC.AZ reports that in 2021, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow fined WhatsApp 4 million rubles and Google - 3 million rubles.

For repeated violations of the requirements for the localization of personal data, Facebook and Twitter were fined 15 and 17 million rubles, respectively. Twitter did not pay the fine.
