11:59 - 17.01.2022

January 17, Fineko/abc.az. Despite the impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), 2021 was a successful year for the economy of Azerbaijan, GDP grew by 5.6%, ABC.AZ reports, citing MP Vugar Bayramov.

"Considering that strict quarantine measures were introduced in the first months of last year, this is characterized as rather serious economic growth. One of the most important points in 2021 is that economic growth has occurred (7.2%). This exceeds the percentage of the total economic growth in the country and indicates that the non-oil sector is becoming the engine of economic growth. This is very important from angle of the sustainability of economic development," he emphasized.
