January 21, Fineko/abc.az. Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp has suspended the operation of 11 factories in Japan because of shortage of automotive components, in particular, microprocessors.

The company said in a statement that production will be stopped on Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Earlier, Toyota also announced similar measures planned for February. However, February production stops will be made at eight out of the company's 14 plants in the country, including lines for the production of hybrid models of Prius and Lexus luxury cars.

Thus, taking into account the latest changes in the production schedule, the output of Toyota cars in January will decrease by 47,000 cars. In total, in the current fiscal year to end in March the company will produce less than 9 million cars – the projected figure.
