89% of hotels in Azerbaijan are empty

January 26, Fineko/abc.az. The State Statistics Committee has published the indicators on hotels in Azerbaijan for 2021.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the SSC that 88.8% of hotels in Azerbaijan are empty.

According to Committee’s report, the use of one-time capacity of hotels made up 11.2% (88.8% were empty) in 2021.

For comparison, in 2020, the use of one-time capacity of hotels was 6.5% (93.5% were empty).

This figure is 82.2% in Shabran, 25.5% in Beylagan, 22.2% in Guba, 21% in Naftalan, 19.1% in Lankaran, 16.2% in Gabala, 14.2% in Baku, 14% in Agjabedi, 13% in Barda, 12.9% in Goychay, 12.9% in Jalilabad, 12% in Sabirabad, 11.7% in Shamkir, 11.2% in Shemakha. In other cities and districts, the indicator was lower than the national average.
