March 2, Fineko/abc.az. "In connection with the situation in Ukraine, the evacuation of Azerbaijanis to our country is on the agenda. During the first 24 hours, our citizens could move to the border states only by land."

ABC.AZ reports that Leyla Abdullayeva, the head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, stated about this at a briefing for journalists.

She noted that negotiations with the border countries were conducted from the first hours: "Azerbaijani citizens facing serious threats can leave Ukraine in the directions of Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. The visa regime has been canceled. Until today, about 4,000 Azerbaijanis have crossed the border. In the current situation, the evacuation of Azerbaijanis from the territories where military operations are continuing is an important issue. Yesterday, Azerbaijanis were already taken out of Kharkiv by train, more than 800 Azerbaijanis left Kharkiv in the direction of Moldova.”
