Afghanistan begins exporting products to Europe - cargo passes through Azerbaijan

March 29, Fineko/abc.az. The Taliban group, which is in power in Afghanistan, starts exporting goods to Europe for the first time, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Afghan TV channel Ariana News.

According to Yunus Kazizad, head of the Chamber of Commerce & Investment of the western Afghan province of Herat, a convoy consisting of about 30 trucks left the region along the Lapis Lazuli transport corridor connecting Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

The total cost of transported goods, including pistachios, sesame seeds, cumin, carpets and almonds, is estimated at $5 million.
