Foreign Affairs Ministry spreads a statement on results of tripartite meeting

April 7, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was held in Brussels on 6 April with the mediation and participation of European Council’s President Charles Michel.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that this meeting, which is continuation of the joint meeting of the parties held on 15 December 2021, is devoted to discussing the situation in the region, including issues of security, stability and peaceful development of the region.

The principles on which Azerbaijan has always acted in connection with the development of the region at the post-conflict stage were widely discussed during the meeting, including issues of full compliance with the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9/10, 2020, further humanitarian steps to promote peace and trust between the parties, taking concrete steps to delimit and demarcate the border of the two states, opening transport and communications.

Following the meeting, EU Council’s president made a statement.

The importance of delimitation and demarcation of the border between the two states was stressed at the meeting, and in this regard, it was decided to create a joint border commission by the end of this April.
