April 19, Fineko/abc.az. “I am glad that you visited us after our meeting in Brussels. Two weeks have passed since the trilateral meeting, which was very constructive, with good results and achievements. I ask you to express gratitude to President Charles Michel for his efforts to create an atmosphere that gave us the opportunity to discuss very important issues and agree on the start of the normalization process. I think that was the starting point. Because we agreed to create border commissions and at the same time working groups on a peace agreement.”

ABC.AZ reports that this opinion was voiced by President Ilham Aliyev during the reception of the EU delegation led by the Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar.

"After the end of the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan's position has always been that we should start negotiations on a peace treaty. I think the official starting point took place in Brussels on 6 April. Since then, we’ve been working, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working, and my Administration has been in contact with your team, and, as we agreed, we are ready to start. I consider it important to continue this progress, and that both sides adhere to the agreements reached," the president said.
