EU states prepare sixth package of sanctions against Russia

April 28, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, the EU is discussing the introduction of a new sanctions package against Russia.

ABC.AZ reports that sanctions should include a gradual withdrawal from Russian oil supplies. The new package also includes sanctions against Sberbank.

Poland and the Baltic states insisted on including more Russian banks in the sixth package of sanctions against Russia.

Earlier, European Commission’s president Ursula von der Leyen said that when discussing further sanctions against Russia against the background of events in Ukraine, the EU is considering measures against the banking sector, in particular, Sberbank.
