May 11, Fineko/abc.az. Last month, the number of cars sold in Russia sharply decreased.

ABC.AZ reports that AvtoVAZ sales fell the most. Kia is in 2nd place with 4,604 cars (-76%), Hyundai - 3rd place with 4,150 cars (-73%). The 4th place is occupied by Renault, whose sales fell by 84%, to 2,231 cars. The GAZ commercial division closes Top 5 with 1,892 cars (-61%).

As for individual models, the first three places among the "bestsellers" in April were occupied by AVTOVAZ models: Lada Granta (2,598 cars), Lada Vesta (1,977 cars) and Lada Niva (1,941 cars).

The 4th and 5th places were occupied by South Korean Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio, sold in the amount of 1,804 cars and 1,660 cars, respectively.

In total, 293,846 new passenger cars were sold in Russia for Jan-Apr 2022 (43% less versus Jan-Apr 2021).
