Azerbaijan's nonoil exports grew 38.5% for past 4 months

May 11, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Apr 2022, the value of Azerbaijan's non-oil exports reached $965.5 million (38.5% more against Jan-Apr 2021), the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications informs.

"There is diversification of exports of processed products to the EU countries, as well as to other industrialized countries. In particular, methanol contained in the structure of the organic chemical industry, plastics and primary-form polyethylene and primary-form polypropylene, primary-form propylene copolymers, and other primary-form substances formed as a result of polymerization have played a decisive role in the growth of non-oil exports. It is no coincidence that for Jan-Apr 2022 exports of chemical industry products grew almost 10-fold versus Jan-Apr 2021. So, in the first 4 months of 2021, the export of the chemical industry amounted to $13.1 million. The main reason for the growth is associated with decrease in the scale of the pandemic, an increase in world market prices for goods acting as an intermediate product for exported organic chemistry products," the Center said.
