Azerbaijan increases gas extraction and exports

May 12, Fineko/abc.az. For the past 4 months of 2022 the country extracted 15.7 bn cu m of natural gas.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Energy that extraction of 4.6 bn cu m of gas accounted for oil&gas field block Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, 8.5 bn cu m for gas condensate field Shah Deniz, 2.6 bn cu m for SOCAR.

Compared with Jan-Apr 2021, gas extraction grew by 14.4% (almost 2 bn cu m).

Over Jan-Apr 2022 the Azerbaijani gas sales abroad totaled 7.6 bn cu m (17.4% more versus Jan-Apr 2021).

For Jan-Apr of this year, 2.9 bn cu m of gas were sold to Turkey, 3.5 bn cu m to Europe, and 1.2 bn cu m to Georgia.

The gas transportation to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) reached about 2 bn cu m of gas.
