Over 99% of transactions carried out in US dollars on interbank foreign exchange market

May 26, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank has published the Monetary Policy Review for Q1 of this year.

The Review says that in the 1st quarter the transactions in the non-cash currency market grew by 25.8% (against the previous year) up to $7.4 bn in dollar equivalent.

30.1% of foreign exchange transactions were conducted on the interbank foreign exchange market, and 69.9% - on the intrabank foreign exchange market.

During this period, 99.6% of transactions on the interbank exchange market were carried out in US dollars and 0.4% - in euro.

The turnover on foreign exchange transactions in the market was formed mainly due to operations on the Bloomberg platform.
