Wine shortage may await Russia - a group of companies sounds alarm

June 13, Fineko/ Shortage of wine may appear in Russia by the end of the year, ABC.AZ reports with reference to group of companies Abrau-Durso.

Closer by the end of the year - on New Year's Eve - there will be shortage of wine in the country.

"Currently, the market observes growth of demand for both ordinary and sparkling Russian wines. This is linked with the reduction of foreign wines in our stores, as well as rising prices. If the demand indicator continues to remain at this level, then this may lead to certain deficit at the end of the year, on the eve of the New Year holidays. Because our reserves, provided for a year, are quickly sold out," holding’s president P.Titov said.

He added that the wine from this year's harvest can be prepared only for the next year.
