June 20, Fineko/abc.az. Assets of Russian oligarchs and related companies in Europe in the amount of 12.5 bn euro have been frozen in the EU countries, as a result of sanctions.

ABC.AZ reports that European Commission’s representative Christian Wiegand stated about this in an interview for WELT.

He added that those assets include luxury yachts, helicopters, paintings, real estate, etc.

Wiegand added that the EU froze half of this amount in April.

The EU imposed sanctions against a large number of Russian oligarchs against the background of Russia's special operation in Ukraine.
