Medvedev: West wanted to harm Russian citizens by disconnecting from SWIFT

June 30, Fineko/abc.az. Western countries have imposed a ban on the use of international payment systems by Russian banks in order to harm the ordinary Russian citizen, Russian Security Council’s deputy chairman Dmitry Medvedev considers.

ABC.AZ reports that Medvedev made this statement at the plenary session of the 10th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

"It is clear to everyone, for example, that the ban on the use of international payment systems by Russian citizens is, in legal terms, intentional harm to then ordinary Russian citizen," Medvedev said.

According to the politician, the purpose of sanctions is simple - "to harm as much as possible to a large number of citizens" of Russia.
