Belarus has defaulted on foreign debt

July 15, Fineko/abc.az. Belarus has defaulted on its external debt.

ABC.AZ reports that this conclusion was made by international rating agency Moody's.

Thus, the grace period during which Belarus had to pay $22.9 million on Belarus-27 eurobonds ended on 13 June. The Ministry of Finance made payments in Belarusian rubles, as a result, bondholders could not receive them. Moody's regards this as a default.
