February 9, Fineko/abc.az. The fortune of the founder of the Adani Group, Gautam Adani, once the richest man in Asia, has risen to $100.7 bn.

According to Bloomberg, he took 12th place in the list of the richest people in the world, returning to the so-called club of owners of fortunes over $100 bn.

In early 2023, in a matter of days, the Indian billionaire's fortune fell to $37.7 bn, which was preceded by the publication of an investigation by American analytical company Hindenburg Research.

In the investigation published on January 24, 2023, the company's analysts presented evidence they had collected over two years allegedly that "the Adani Group had been involved in brazen stock manipulation and reporting fraud schemes for decades". Hindenburg Research questioned the "sky-high valuation" of the companies in the group and said that in fact the conglomerate has "substantial debts".

After the publication of the investigation, the companies that are part of the Adani Group lost about $150 bn in market capitalization, and Adani's fortune decreased more than by $80 bn from $120 bn.
