Alphabet's capitalization exceeds $2 trillion

April 29, Fineko/abc.az. The market value of Alphabet Inc., Google's holding company, exceeded $2 trillion for the first time in trading on Friday.

ABC.AZ reports that Alphabet became the fourth American company whose capitalization exceeded this mark. Before that, only Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. crossed this line. and Nvidia Corp.

Alphabet's stock prices jumped 10.2% on Friday, thanks in part to good quarterly reporting. This was the highest daily rise since July 2015, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

Over the past three months, the company's capitalization has grown by 12%, and since the beginning of this year - by more than 23%. It now stands at $2.15 trillion, which is slightly below Nvidia's market value ($2.19 trillion).

Alphabet's net profit in the first quarter increased more than one and a half times and amounted to $23.66 billion. Earnings per share rose to $1.89 from $1.17. Revenue increased by 15% to $80.54 billion.
