Canada to build world's largest carbon dioxide capture plant

June 28, Fineko/abc.az. Canada will construct the world's largest carbon dioxide absorption plant. In the Canadian province of Quebec, a huge step is being taken to make the world more livable.

A company called Equatic is building the world's largest direct carbon dioxide capture (CDR) plant, ABC.AZ reports.

This installation will be able to absorb 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere every year.

Equatic uses the natural abilities of the oceans to remove carbon dioxide. Oceans are giant carbon nests capable of absorbing up to 25% of the carbon produced by humans. Equatic technology passes an electric current through seawater to enhance this natural process.

The process splits water into hydrogen and oxygen to form acid and base. Carbon is stored in water in solid form. In addition, the alkaline sludge produced in this process is also used to absorb more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
