August 5, Fineko/abc.az. In July, the head of Neuralink, Elon Musk, announced that the second patient in the company's history would receive a brain implant to restore lost functions of the nervous system in the same month. 

ABC.AZ reports that apparently, the operation was successful, because at the beginning of this month, Musk announced the appearance of a second patient with a Neuralink implanted brain chip.

The operation on its installation implies drilling of a small hole in the skull and installing a small device with diameter of a coin into the hole, which connects to the cerebral cortex using some of the thinnest 1024 electrodes available. Their connection to the human brain is handled by a medical robot specially designed for this purpose. According to Musk, company's second patient received the same implant, which has at least 400 electrodes.
