Apple lays off 100 employees

14:45 - 28.08.2024

August 28, Fineko/abc.az. Apple announced the layoff of 100 employees, with the majority of the affected staff hailing from the company's Books and News departments.

ABC.Az reports that Apple no longer views its Books division as a significant revenue driver, leading to the decision to scale back resources in this area. In contrast, the Apple News service has proven to be a more lucrative venture, largely due to its News+ subscription offering.

This latest round of layoffs marks the fourth known instance of staff reductions at Apple in 2024. The company has previously shuttered its electric car project, halted the development of microLED displays, and downsized its artificial intelligence workforce as part of a broader organizational restructuring.
