September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Romania is working closely with Azerbaijan, Georgia and Hungary to develop a green energy corridor, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Romanian Energy Minister Sebastian-Ioan Burduja.
"It mainly consists of an underwater cable along the bottom of the Black Sea, which will allow green energy to move freely between our countries, thereby further integrating our energy markets. A feasibility study is under development. On the other hand, there is also a great opportunity to increase Azerbaijan's role in the EU gas market by improving communication opportunities between our regions. For Europe, greater access to Azerbaijani gas guarantees the satisfaction of domestic demand, lower prices and the development of industries such as petrochemicals. But more importantly, gas from Azerbaijan means increasing energy security by diversifying sources," Burduja said.
He also mentioned that Romania is determined to further strengthen cooperation with Azerbaijan and promote cooperation between Azerbaijan and Europe in the energy sector.
