Azerbaijan's foreign trade surplus reaches $4.65 bn

September 11, Fineko/abc.az. The country's foreign trade turnover for Jan-Jul 2024 amounted to $26.239 billion, taking into account the statistically estimated value of exported crude oil and natural gas, which were registered with customs authorities, but customs clearance was not fully completed.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that $15.446 billion or 58.9% of trade turnover was the value of products exported from the country, and $10.79 billion (41.1%) was the value of imported products, resulting in positive balance of $4.65 billion.

Compared with Jan-Jul 2023, foreign trade turnover in actual prices decreased by 3.3% and in real terms by 5%, including imports by 3% and exports by 6.1%.

Non-oil exports for Jan-Jul 2024 totaled $1.87 billion (6.6% less in actual prices and 16.3% less in real terms versus Jan-Jul 2023).

According to the State customs Committee, 23.1% of foreign trade turnover accounted for Italy, 13.5% for Türkiye, and 9.6 % for Russia and 7.3% for China, 4.3% for Israel, and 3.2 % for Germany, 2.7%  for the U.S., 2.6% for India, 2.4% for the Czech Republic, 2.2% for Australia, by 2% for Croatia and the UK, 1.5% for Portugal and Greece, by 1.3 % for Georgia, Bulgaria and Iran, 1.2% for Romania, by 1% for Ukraine, Thailand and Turkmenistan, by 0.9% for Belarus and Korea, and 12.2% for trade with other countries.
