Nigerian army prevents theft of 198,000 tons of oil

September 13, Fineko/abc.az. Nigerian army units have disrupted a large illegal oil bunkering operation in the southern region of the country.

ABC.AZ reports that the 6th Division of the Nigerian army found more than 198,000 stolen crude oil on the stock exchange from the Nigerian NNPC oil pumping station in Rivers State.

The soldiers raided a barge and then seized three speedboats near Cawthorne Channel I, a fully operational oil and gas field near the Niger Delta. According to local media reports, the alleged suspects were caught pumping crude oil from a barge at the NNPC oil pumping station.
