September 16, Fineko/abc.az. The solar energy support program in Uzbekistan continues to gain momentum.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Tax Committee, that in the first 7 months of 2024, 4,986 individuals generated electricity using solar panels installed on their homes and sold the surplus - 4.8 million kWh - to regional power grids.

Electricity was purchased at tariff of 1,000 soums per 1 kWh, and the total amount of payments amounted to 4.8 billion soums (~ $380,000).

This indicates the growing popularity of solar energy among the population and the effectiveness of the state program to support renewable energy sources.
