October 8, Fineko/abc.az. Stellantis concern and Renault group do not plan to merge.

ABC.AZ reports. that the possibility of such a merger was rejected by the heads of both companies.

At that, rumors about the upcoming alliance of two major automakers have arisen not for the first time recently.

Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore wrote about the hypothetical merger talks between Stellantis and Renault this week.

According to the paper, the two car giants consider such an alliance as an opportunity to save money in the face of increased competition in the global market.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, during his visit to one of the group's production centers in France, called this information pure speculation.

His colleague from Renault Group, Luca Demeo, speaking at an event in Paris, added that all this was a rumor and declined to comment further.

At that, the two top managers will meet on October 14 at the opening of the Paris Motor Show, but it is unknown what they will discuss.
