October 29, Fineko/abc.az. The German Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DIHK), after stagnation this year, expects only zero growth in the country's economy next year.

ABC.AZ reports that this opinion was expressed by Martin Vansleben, CEO at DIHK, at the presentation of a new economic study in Berlin.

He added that the data of the DIHK economic survey conducted in autumn 2024, which was attended by about 25,000 companies from all industries and regions of Germany, do not give reason for optimism for 2025.

"On the contrary, in some places, feedback from companies raises fears that the situation could get even worse. For 2024, we are lowering our forecast to "red zero" at best. We also expect zero growth next year. This will be the third year in a row without any real GDP growth," Vansleben stated.

He stressed that it was "not just an economic crisis, but a lasting structural crisis in Germany".

"To the high cost of energy and personnel, the growing bureaucracy and tax burden are added geopolitical uncertainty and the collapse of demand at home and abroad," the CEO explained.

According to the survey, only 26% of companies rate their current business situation as "good". The balance of positive and negative assessments of the situation has decreased to one point after five points in early summer.
