October 30, Fineko/abc.az. A cadastre (registry) of mineral waters is being prepared in Azerbaijan to develop health tourism.
ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov made the relevant statement.
The deputy minister noted that the cadastre will also reflect the therapeutic composition of the waters: "The territory of Azerbaijan is rich in mineral waters. The total number of mineral waters, springs, and wells in our country is close to 930, and 113 of these are waters that can serve the development of health tourism. This is a huge potential. The majority of these waters are concentrated in Kalbajar, Lachin, Eastern Zangazur, around Shusha, and in Nakhchivan. With the preparation of the cadastre, information about the composition, source, and other characteristics of the waters will be obtained, which will create opportunities to attract investors and local and foreign tourists to the field."
