November 1, Fineko/abc.az. German company Siemens, which violates the obligations of the contract for the supply of equipment to the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP), cannot be trusted.

ABC.AZ reports that Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar thinks so.

He recalled that many institutions in the country work with Siemens, one of the most important potential suppliers of turbines. The first reactor of the Akkuyu NPP was supposed to be launched in the spring of 2025, but now the deadline has been postponed to the end of next year due to the pandemic, the consequences of the situation in Ukraine and the late delivery of equipment from Siemens. Bayraktar clarified that as a result of the breakdown of contractual conditions, 99% of company's equipment will not be used during implementation of the project. The minister said that equipment from China will be used.
