November 1, Fineko/abc.az. Russia and Iran have held a series of high-level meetings to strengthen the 20-year cooperation agreement, agreeing to accelerate deals on exploration, production and sale of gas for $40 billion, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the American edition of Oil Price.

Russia, along with China, will receive the right of first choice in Iran's key gas fields.

The two countries are also stepping up the transition to using local currencies in transactions. This is due to the desire to reduce dependence on the dollar and strengthen its position in the global economy.
