December 3, Fineko/abc.az. This year, non-cash payments accounted for 63.8% of all transactions via payment cards within the country.

ABC.AZ reports that Association of Banks of Azerbaijan’s president Zakir Nuriyev said about this during the VIII International Banking Forum.

He also spoke about his knowledge base in the field of payment services and payment systems.

"The development of the legislative framework in the field of payment services has allowed licensing the activities of 14 electronic payment organizations, 8 payment organizations and one payment system operator. The modernization of the infrastructure of the Instant Payment System, the formation of an open banking platform and the introduction of a sandbox mode for innovative solutions remain in the spotlight," Nuriyev added.
