December 11, Fineko/abc.az. The current account surplus of Azerbaijan's balance of payments for Jan-Sept 2024 reached close to $4 billion.

ABC.AZ reports that CBA Statistics Department’s director Samir Nasirov said about this at a CBA briefing.

He added that the current account balance for the first 9 months of 2024 decreased roughly by 40% versus Jan-Sept 2023.

According to Nasirov, the share of the current account in GDP was 7.2%.

The current account surplus on the oil & gas sector totaled $11.1 billion and the current account deficit on the non-oil sector - $7.1 billion.
