December 12, Fineko/abc.az. The world's first beating heart transplant operation was performed in the Italian city of Padua, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Padua Hospital & University Administration.

The Administration called the operation a revolution. With the help of such practice, doctors will be able to improve the results of heart transplantation and avoid controlled organ failure.

"In this way, damage from ischemia and reperfusion is eliminated both at the time of sampling and during transplantation, and faster restoration of heart functions with improved postoperative heart performance will be ensured," the report says.

According to the Padua Hospital & University Administration, the patient is currently healthy. He's getting ready to be discharged.
