Capital change can cost Iran $37 bn

January 13, Fineko/abc.az. The matter of moving the capital is on agenda in Iran. Experts believe that replacing Tehran with another city will cost a huge sum for the Iranian government, ABC.AZ reports, quoting  Abulfazl Abuturabi, a member of the Commission on Internal Affairs of the Iranian Parliament.

He noted that if to choose an area near Tehran, 80 km away, it will cost about $7 billion.

"If the capital is moved to an area of 130-200 km, it will cost about $22 billion. If we choose the capital at a distance of more than 500 km, as in the case of Turkey and Pakistan, it will cost $30-37 billion, depending on the infrastructure," Abuturabi emphasized.
