January 15, Fineko/abc.az. Global air transportation activity continued to grow in 2024, although profits declined slightly compared with the figures recorded in 2023.
ABC.AZ informs that this follows from Global Airlines 2025 Outlook of global rating agency Morningstar DBRS.
In particular, in North America and Europe, profitability was affected by rising operating costs, lower passenger traffic volumes and supply chain problems, experts write. A "modest improvement" in margins is expected in 2025 amid lower fuel prices, normalization of growth in non-fuel costs, including labor costs, and positive demand dynamics for travel.
Delays in aircraft deliveries will continue, according to the authors of the report. In addition, the geopolitical situation poses a serious uncertainty for the sector, where any escalation of current conflicts and/or new flare-ups in other regions could significantly affect global air travel.
