January 16, Fineko/abc.az. A new grain terminal on the Caspian coast in the port of Kuryk is being constructed in Kazakhstan.

ABC.AZ informs that after the completion of the first phase of construction, the terminal will have capacity of 570,000 tons of grain cargo a year.

With the construction of the second phase, terminal's capacity should reach 1.5 million tons per year.

The total investment in Sarzha Grain Terminal will amount to just over $50 million. The completion of the first phase is scheduled for the 2nd half of 2026.

The designers believe that this will give a new impetus to the development of the Middle Corridor and realization of the roadmap for development of transport and logistics potential until 2030, approved by the government of Kazakhstan.

The project is aimed at diversifying export routes for Kazakhstani goods, increasing the export and transit potential of the Trans-Caspian route.
