Azerbaijan is in talks about goods and services with 19 WTO members

Azerbaijan is negotiating on goods and services with 19 members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), including the United States, the European Union (EU), Norway, Switzerland, Russia, China, Canada, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Ministry of Economy.

"Within the WTO membership, import tariffs on commodity nomenclature and market access issues for various service sectors are being discussed at bilateral negotiations, and the trade regime, including technical regulation and other issues, is being discussed at multilateral negotiations," the Ministry said.

Azerbaijan has had observer status in the World Trade Organization since 1997.

Azerbaijan started negotiations with the WTO member countries in 2004. On January 13-14, 2025, the first round of bilateral negotiations between Azerbaijan and China took place in Baku. During the two-day talks, the parties discussed issues related to trade in goods and services and reached a number of key agreements.
