January 27, Fineko/abc.az. It was decided to abolish the Institute of Caucasian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (AMEA).

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant decision was made by the AMEA board a few days ago.

The Presidium did not consider it appropriate to maintain the Institute of Caucasian Studies, consisting of only 18 researchers, and decided to terminate its activities.

"Employees of departments relating to the history of the Caucasus will continue their scientific research in a broader format in the new expanded departments created at the Institute of History & Ethnology, and those involved in political sciences at the Institute of Philosophy & Sociology," the AMEA said.
