February 3, Fineko/abc.az. The new powers are given to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that the matter is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Tax Code of Azerbaijan, discussed at today’s first plenary session of the Milli Majlis 2025 spring session.

In accordance with the current legislation, equipment and technical means used for defense and state security purposes, as well as their spare parts, special software and ammunition, are exempt from VAT provided there is a supporting document issued by an authority designated by the relevant executive authorities (Ministries of Defense, of Defense Industry, of Internal Affairs, of Emergency Situations, of Justice, as well as other state institutions defined by the presidential decree from December 28, 2023).

According to the draft, these powers are also granted to the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.

The bill was adopted in the 3rd reading.
