 February 4, Fineko/abc.az. The population of Kazakhstan totaled 20,286,084 people as of January 1, 2025.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the Bureau of National Statistics, 12,774,743 people are living in cities and 7,511,341 people in rural areas.

In 2024, the total population growth was 252,242 people. Of these, natural growth provided an increase of 235,078 people, while migration growth added another 17,164 people.

The most dynamic population growth is observed in the country's largest cities: Astana showed an increase of 6.91%, Almaty by 2.86%, and Shymkent by 2.80%.
