Investments for over 1 bn manats are planned in industrial zones of Azerbaijan

In 2024, 10 new enterprises were put into operation in the industrial zones of Azerbaijan, in which a total of 48.6 million manats were invested, and 389 permanent jobs created, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Seymur Adigezalov, chairman of board of the Economic Zones Development Agency.

He noted that these enterprises produce various building materials, footwear, railway equipment, electricity and other products: "Entrepreneurs have invested 6.9 bn manats in industrial zones, 84 enterprises have started operating, and more than 10,700 permanent jobs have been created. Also, at the next stage, it is planned to invest more than 1 bn manats in existing projects and create more than 8,000 permanent jobs."

Adigezalov added that from 2015 to 2024, products for 15.4 bn manats were sold in industrial zones, of which 4.9 bn manats were exported.: "Also in 2024, products for 3.3 bn manats were sold in industrial zones, of which 1 bn manats were exported. Compared with 2023, exports increased by 8.1%. Products made in industrial zones are exported to more than 70 countries around the world. The main exports were polymers, carbamide, lubricants, glass plates, steel pipes, cables, sulfuric acid, tobacco products, ceramic tiles, yarn, wallpaper, shoes for various purposes, etc."
