February 10, Fineko/abc.az. The presentation of the World Development Report is a comprehensive study conducted by the World Bank. In 30 years, Azerbaijan has managed to transform itself from scratch into a modern developing country.

ABC.AZ reports that Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Economic Affairs and Policy of Innovative Development of the Presidential Administration Shahmar Movsumov stated about this during the presentation of the World Development Report.

He noted that Azerbaijan is currently among the 54 middle-income countries.

"This is a significant achievement in the short-term prospect. As you know, more than half of GDP was lost in the 90s. Since the beginning of cooperation with the World Bank in 1992, Azerbaijan has undergone a major transformation. The World Bank has been a very serious partner of Azerbaijan, including taking an active part in projects in the field of healthcare and agriculture. The World Bank will remain one of our key partners in supporting innovation in the future," Movsumov said.
