February 11, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has granted a license to Tiko Azərbaycan LLC to operate as an electronic money issuer.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the CBA that the license was issued in accordance with the Law on Payment Services & Payment Systems.

The CBA also noted that the evaluation of applications from other organizations applying for a license to provide payment services is continuing.

Earlier, the CBA issued perpetual licenses to 13 companies to operate as issuers of electronic money, 8 companies to operate as payment organizations, as well as to AzeriCard to operate as an issuer of electronic money and a payment system operator. Thus, the total number of licensed organizations in this field has reached 23.
