February 11, Fineko/abc.az. Bodegas Protos, one of Spain's largest wine farms, has sent additional wine stocks to the United States to delay price increases if duties are imposed, amid threats from U.S. President Donald Trump to impose tariffs on products from the EU.
ABC.AZ reports that Spain’s wine exports to the U.S. increased by 20% in December 2024, which, according to experts from the Spanish Wine Federation, is partly linked with the accumulation of stocks by importers ahead of a possible increase in tariffs.
The U.S. is the second largest export market for Spanish wines after Germany. Protos exports about 250,000 bottles per year to the U.S.
