February 11, Fineko/abc.az. The industrial production of alternative meat and dairy products can bring up to €65 bn and 250,000 new jobs to the German economy, ABC.AZ informs, referring to Systemid’s study, fulfilled to order of the European Institute of Healthy Nutrition (GFI).

The study "The Taste of Tomorrow: How Protein Production Diversification can Boost the German Economy" describes three different scenarios. In the best-case scenario, the production of food products from soybeans, fungal mycelium and cell cultures is expected to grow from €2.2 bn in 2023 up to €23 bn in 2045. This represents about 10% of today's food industry sales.

According to the authors of the study, the production and export of raw materials and equipment for the production of alternative proteins will bring even greater added value, up to €35 bn in 2045.
