February 14, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, total capital of Azerbaijan's banking sector increased by 600 million manats, or 10.8%, reaching 6.2 billion manats.
ABC.AZ informs that Association of Banks of Azerbaijan’s chairman Zakir Nuriyev state dabout this at the Azerbaijan Financial Forum in Baku.
He added that adequacy of sector's capital was 17.6% (1.7-fold higher against minimum regulatory requirements).
"At the end of 2024, the liquid assets of the banking sector amounted to 14.2 billion manats, or 26.9% of total assets. The instant liquidity ratio is estimated at 51.9% (the minimum rate is 30%), which is 1.7 times higher than the minimum requirements. The liquidity coverage ratio for the sector was 150.1%, and for foreign currency - 178%, which significantly exceeds regulatory requirements. This requirement is 90% for systemically important banks and 80% for other banks," Nuriyev said.
